The Structure of the Bielefeld GenoMik-Plus Network

The network is composed of three research clusters comprising a total of 26 research projects. The research clusters focus on genome research on:

• Plant-Associated Bacteria (5 projects)

• Primary Metabolite Producers ( 8 projects)

• Secondary Metabolite Producers (13 projects)

The network is co-ordinated by a network center which is located at Bielefeld University. The network center houses the management as well as a technical facility designated technology node. The technology node provides support for partners of the Bielefeld network in the fields of bioinformatics and transcriptomics. In addition to the technology node, the Technology Platform Microbial Genome research (TPMG)-Bioinformatics is situated at the network center. The TPMG-Bioinformatics provides basic support for all projects funded in the frame of the GenoMik-Plus initiative requiring assistance in the bioinformatics interpretation of genomics and transcriptomics data.
